Bear wrestling...

Today we return to the dentist. For us this is like wrestling a bear! Regan to put it nicely HATES going to the dentist. Well, let me rephrase that he loves the waiting room at the dentist it's when they call his name to go back that we have a problem. Our dentist has a cool little tree house kind of thing in the waiting room. He slides a million times a minute but you let that sweet lady come out and call his name and the kicking and screaming begins. Our dentist sees special needs patients only at a certain time to "allow for more one on one time." I think he does it so that Regan doesn't scare the other patients! Now as he head into the little room Regan gains all kinds of super human strength and then it takes an army to get him on the chair!!!

What follows next is something out of a horror film. Usually involves screaming, crying ,clawing, begging, kicking, 3 assistants, a dentist and me. It's just plain ugly in there!! When we finally get done Regan has lots of bruising all over his face and neck from where the capillaries have busted. I'm sweating, his sweating, the assistants are talking about how they are glad it's lunch so that they can rest after that and I swear we will NEVER do that again!! But of course then we find out we need to come back in a few weeks and get a tooth fixed!!

Our trip today is because of cavity. A tiny little place he tells me, won't even need to numb him up. I'm not looking forward to it and may need some medication myself to make it through this.

Oreo Truffles

Oreo balls are one of my favorite things to make this time of year. I made them yesterday for Ricky's birthday. They are simple to make and soo rich! I can only eat a couple before the chocolate gets me! I've seen a couple different recipes but here is how I make mine.

One package of Oreo cookies
1 can of cream cheese frosting
Almond bark (white/chocolate or both!)

Crust oreo in blender or in a ziplock bag with a hammer!!
(a great way to take out the days stress)
Mix can of icing in with the oreo crumbs
Refrigerate for about 15 mins
After they have chilled roll into small balls~ I use a melon baller
Melt the almond bark as directed
Dip the oreo ball into the almond bark
and let set up on wax paper

These are so good and my family can expect t see these for our Christmas get togethers!!

Any great ideas out there for finger foods?

Nutcracker

Today Regan and I went with my mom to see The Nutcracker put on by Knox concert series. It was GREAT! The dancers were amazing and you could see the story unfolding while they danced. It was the first time Regan has been to a ballet and he was so good. A few times during the ballet he started trying to dance in his seat! He was so excited and would clap even while the dancers were dancing!! We had a wonderful time and I'm so glad my mom made it work for us to go.
I wish I had taken my camera with us but next time I will for sure!

DIY~ Christmas Shirt!

I'm super excited about a Christmas shirt I made Karly. It is super easy and super CUTE!! I can't sew at all, so making her Christmas outfits is just out of the question for me. Anytime I get to make her something to wear it just means alot to me.

This is a onesie and the Christmas tree is made out of ribbon loops! When the shirt is on the tree fills out more and so you can't see where I messed up on the spacing. Let me know if you want details on how to make it!

I've got lots of ribbon to make her some more in different themes and colors! My favorite is hounds tooth and red!! I can't wait to see her in it!

This last picture is just because she is CUTE!

Day 4

See it didn't take long for me to miss a day on the 30 day challenge! I'm so scattered lately I have lost my favorite camera, keys to our firebox, and some Christmas presents! Oh well so far I have kept up with the kids so I guess I'm doing okay.
Day 4
Your favorite picture of your best friend.

This is Ricky playing on a playground in Tennessee. He is so funny at playgrounds. He will go down every slide and swing on every swing that the kids play on. He is their built in playmate! He makes me want to let go and just have fun!
